Elke and Monika have been a couple for over 30 years now.

I‘LL HAVE WHAT THEY ARE HAVING

Elke and Monika, now in their 70s and 80s, carry their wrinkles as reminders of a life lived together with strength, pride, and shared experiences. Together for over 30 years, they have built a life marked by companionship and gentle strength—a bond that defies society’s tendency to erase those who age. In each other, they’ve found a beauty that transcends youth, showing us that love only deepens as the years pass. Their story is one of queer joy and enduring connection, proving that growing older together can be an act of quiet, remarkable courage.

The potraits were exhibited at QUEER SKIN – a multidisciplinary exhibition and runway show produced and hosted by Kottilesben on October 26th, 2024 at  Napoleon-Komplex.
